merchandise

To promote connection and collaboration with local art students, we hosted a merchandise competition. Students were invited to visit the venue and learn about our approach to flavour. Following the session, each student submitted merchandise concepts. Ten were selected for exhibition, and from that, three were awarded and put into production.

Lane45

One of our first and longest standing collaborations is with multi-disciplinary artist and designer, Tanmay Saxena, and his brand, Lane 45. Since delivering our first line of uniforms, Tan continues to optimize the material, fit, and function, offering each employee a customized, made-to-measure uniform.

Tan is an integral part of our work, dressing us not only for work, but also for parties and events, such as the Top 50 Bars Closing Party (2022), where he adapted famous costumes from the Oskar Schlemmers Triadiches Ballet.

We are proud to work alongside such a devoted and talented artist and have continued our partnership with Tan as an official collaborator in the Drink More Art program.

CAKE
Architecture

When            first opened, we designed the bar with a very clear intention, but limited experience. When we expanded into the basement, we wanted to collaborate with a professional design team who could not only teach us more about architecture and the process of a design, but also with whom we could exchange on the subject we love so much, the Bauhaus.

We reached out to CAKE Architecture as we enjoyed their previous projects and believed that they would create a beautiful representation of what Bauhaus students might design in the present day.

Our limitation for the project was ‘8 cold units’ and our brief was ‘you will always find me in the kitchen at parties’.

CAKE Architecture’s sense of beauty helped us reinterpret our venue, and learn about the process of architecture - an experience which we felt was perfectly in line with the bauhaus concept.

We love collaborating with people, learning about different mindsets, and then applying that mindset to our industry. It was especially interesting collaborating with Steve and learning about his perspective as a lighting designer.

During our partnership we found a common ground in the shared belief that the more you experiment, the better the result. In this spirit, we don’t consider the light installation to ever be completely finished. We continuously study its effect on customers and the energy it brings to the evening, and use this information to adapt, experiment, and improve.

The project was a huge learning experience, changing the way we look at lighting and it’s impact.
